Loïc Deschaux, born in 2005, became IWWF Open Men cable world champion in 2024 at Le Kable in Choisy-le-Roi, on the edge of Paris. Riding in front of a home crowd, the French rider scored 78.33 to finish ahead of Germany's Florian Weiherer and the Philippines' Raph Trinidad, giving France a world title on home water.

Those 2024 Worlds doubled as a qualifier for The World Games 2025, and Deschaux made his ticket count. In Chengdu, where cable wakeboarding returned to the Games for the first time since 2005, he posted the top heat score of 80.40 and went on to win men's cable gold on 10 August, ahead of Germany's Max Milde and Florian Weiherer.

According to his IWWF rider profile, he goes by 'Loulou', calls TNS 73 in Savoie his home cable and names Jobe, ION and Bern as sponsors. With a world title and a World Games gold already on his record, he is one of the riders to watch on the international cable circuit.
