🇩🇪 Dominik Gührs
German cable veteran Dominik Gührs won the 2011 WWA wake park world title and was reported to spend his winters training in Bangkok.
Dominik Gührs is a veteran of the cable scene rather than a current contest leader. The Munich rider, born in 1990 according to the WWA, won the WWA Wake Park World Championships at Al Forsan in Abu Dhabi in December 2011 and also took the overall title in that year's WWA Wake Park World Series.
When he joined Team Hyperlite in October 2020, Unleashed magazine described him as a two-time world champion and a legend of cable wakeboarding, and credited him with winning Red Bull Rising High, billed as the first wakeboard big-air event. The same report said he ran learn-to-ride days and clinics for young riders at European cable parks through his Red Bull partnership.
Bangkok became part of his routine. According to Surfertoday, he spent around three months each winter training in the city, and in 2019 he filmed the three-part 'Searching Bangkok' series, riding Thai Wake Park as well as winch spots at the Ancient City and floating markets.
