Varapa Wakepark sits down a quiet soi in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani, about 27 km from Don Mueang Airport. Its pitch is simple: a private pond with two separate 2-tower System 2.0 lines. The green line is the beginner lane with a small kicker; the red line adds a big kicker and a mini box for riders who are already up and want to start hitting features.

Everything is booked by slot, so the pond never feels like a busy full-size cable. Beginners get repetition instead of queue time, and groups effectively have the water to themselves. Rates start at 600 THB per hour on weekday daytimes as of October 2026, charged per pond with no rider limit so a group can split the cost, and basic gear and staff supervision are included, which is fair value for a semi-private session. A cocktail bar, a family area and pet-friendly grounds round it out, and evening sessions make it an easy after-work option.

The trade-offs: a 2.0 line is a straight back-and-forth, so you won't get the flowing laps of a full-size cable. There's no accommodation or pro shop, and the booking rules are strict: deposits are non-refundable and you can reschedule only once, with two days' notice. Slots run from 09:00 to 24:00 daily.

Based on official information and our research, Varapa is one of the better first-timer and small-group spots north of Bangkok. If you outgrow it, ESC Thai Wake Park's full-size cable is about 13 km away.

History & story

Varapa is a privately run pond in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani, about 30 minutes from Don Mueang and a short drive from ESC Thai Wake Park. Its pitch is simple: wakeboarding with no queue. Instead of selling tickets on a shared cable, it rents a whole line by the hour, so your group has the water to itself. Two 2-tower lines split the water: a gentle green line for first-timers and a red line with bigger features. We found no opening year, but site photos go back to early 2023 and prices were refreshed in June 2026. A bar and family area suit friend groups and evening sessions.

In depth

Background

Varapa is a privately run pond in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani, about 30 minutes from Don Mueang airport and a short drive from ESC Thai Wake Park. Its own site sells it on one idea: a wakeboard lake where you do not wait in a queue. Rather than selling individual tickets on a shared cable, Varapa rents a whole line by the hour, so your group has the water to itself.

We found no sourced opening date or ownership history. Image uploads on the official site go back to early 2023, and the site was refreshed with new pricing in June 2026, which is the clearest sign that it is active in 2026.

Two lines, two levels

There are two independent 2-tower cables on the pond, booked separately and colour-coded. The green line is the gentler one, with a small kicker, and suits first-timers. The red line carries a larger kicker plus a box (listed as an up-box), for riders who already have edge control (source: Waketricks). Wakeparks Thailand credits the towers to Neverdry, the Bang Yai builder, and notes they stand taller than on a typical 2-tower set-up; it also lists the cable as System 2.0, a slight mismatch we could not resolve. Either way, the operator sets speed and tension by hand and can stop the rope instantly.

The trade-off is scale. Next to full-size cables such as Thai Wake Park Lumlukka, there are far fewer obstacles and no long laps, which is why guides frame Varapa as a place for focused practice rather than a day of park laps.

Prices, booking rules and what to know before you go

A rate notice on the official site, effective 16 June 2026, charges per pond per hour with no limit on riders: 600 THB on weekdays and 700 THB on weekends from 09:00 to 18:00, rising to 700 and 800 THB from 18:00 to midnight. Both lines cost the same, and basic gear (board, vest, helmet, shoes) is included. Older directory figures of 500 THB per hour appear to predate this change. Prepaid member packs of 10 or 20 hours are also listed (6,000/12,000 THB for weekdays, 7,000/14,000 THB for weekends), valid on weekdays or weekends only, shareable and without expiry. Prices are as of October 2026.

Booking is by time slot: choose green or red online, pay a deposit by bank transfer and upload the slip. The posted rules are strict. Deposits are non-refundable, you may reschedule once with at least two days' notice, unused time is lost, and late arrivals are not compensated. Evening slots make it one of the few places near Bangkok to ride until midnight; for that kind of session see our night wakeboarding guide. Pets are welcome.

What reviewers often say

Varapa averages about 4.8 on Google from around 54 reviews, as summarised by Wakeparks Thailand. Reviews and guides tend to praise the absence of crowds and queues, coaching that is methodical and technical, and the value of renting the whole line for a small group. The park also has a loyal following among riders working on specific tricks. The recurring caveats are distance (45 to 60 minutes from central Bangkok, with Grab fares of roughly 300 to 400 THB each way) and functional rather than resort-style facilities. Beginners are welcome, but some write-ups say the coaching pays off most once you can already stand and hold an edge.

Recent changes (2025-2026)

The main 2026 change is pricing. The June 2026 notice replaced the earlier flat rate with weekday and weekend, day and evening tiers, and added member hour packs that include a small discount at the on-site cocktail bar. The phone number on the new notice (093 271 7903) differs from the one in older listings, so use the website or Facebook page for the current contact. We found no competitions hosted at Varapa.

FAQ

How much does Varapa Wakepark cost?

Per the official price table (updated 16 June 2026), you pay per pond per hour with no rider limit, and both lines cost the same: 600 THB/h on weekdays from 09:00-18:00 and 700 THB/h from 18:00-24:00, or 700 and 800 THB/h at weekends. Basic gear (board, vest, helmet, shoes) is included, so a group can split the pond fee. Member packs cost 6,000/12,000 THB for weekdays or 7,000/14,000 THB for weekends.

Can complete beginners ride here?

Yes. The green line is set up for beginners and staff supervise sessions. Because the pond is booked by slot, you get plenty of attempts without long queues.

Is night riding available?

Yes. The official price table lists slots from 09:00 to 24:00 daily; evening slots (18:00-24:00) cost 700 THB/h on weekdays and 800 THB/h at weekends.

What's the difference between a 2.0 line and a full-size cable?

A 2-tower line pulls you straight back and forth, and the operator can stop and adjust speed for each rider, which is great for learning. A full-size cable runs a loop around several towers with many riders at once.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, Varapa is pet-friendly and has a family area. Keep pets on the bank and away from the landing zone.

How far is Varapa from ESC Thai Wake Park?

About 13 km, or roughly 18 minutes by car. It's easy to combine a learning session at Varapa with a full-size cable session at ESC on the same day.
