Sanya Phonthip (also spelled Phontip) is a Thai cable rider who competes in both wakeboard and wakeskate, and has contested both in the open men's class. He made his name at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines, after the Thai squad had prepared for around six months at Thai Wake Park Lumlukka in Pathum Thani, according to Matichon.

The wake events took place at Deca Wakeboard Park in Clark from 6 to 8 December 2019. On the final day Sanya won men's wakeboard gold in his first SEA Games appearance, one of two Thai wakeboard golds that day alongside Patcharaporn Junnguluam in the women's event. Thailand also took silver in both wakeskate events and in the mixed team cableski.

In 2022 he was second in both Open Men wakeboard and Open Men wakeskate at the Phuket Wake Park round of the Singha national series, which selected the team for that year's home World Championships. At those Worlds, held at ESC Thai Wake Park, he entered both disciplines and finished fifth in his Open Men wakeboard qualifying group, Thai media reported.
