Pisit Mahatthanajatuphat, known as 'Shogun', is one of the young Thai riders who came through the junior ranks into the national open team. Thai press reported in 2022 that he took up wakeboarding at nine after a friend invited him along, and that he had worked his way back from ankle and back injuries.

His breakthrough year was 2022. He won silver in the U14 men's division at the IWWF Asian Championships in Chuncheon, South Korea, then took U14 bronze at the IWWF Cable World Championships held at ESC Thai Wake Park. On the national Singha series he won the U14 boys' category at the ESC round.

By 2025 he had moved up to the open men's division. At the IWWF Asian Championships, held in June at Rabbit Lake in Bangkok with boat wakeboard, wakesurf and water ski on the programme, he finished second in open men's wakeboard behind Korea's Cho Yonghyun, according to the official IWWF results sheet. Team-mate Bhraebhim Pipatsawaddhi added bronze in the women's event.

Later that year he was part of the four-rider Thai squad that won the boat wakeboard mixed team gold at the 2025 SEA Games, alongside Piti Siridhasnakul, Bhraebhim Pipatsawaddhi and Lalada Liew. The SEA Games wake events were team-only, so this is a team title rather than an individual one.
