🇹🇭 Lalada Liew
U14 world bronze on home water, then SEA Games team gold on boat and cable in 2025: Lalada Liew is one of Thailand's most versatile riders.
Lalada Liew, nicknamed 'Thong Thong' in Thai, rides boat and cable wakeboard and has also competed in wakesurf. Thai press in 2022 reported her as half Thai, half Malaysian, and said she had been wakeboarding for only two to three years at that point, which makes the speed of her rise through the junior ranks all the more striking.
Her 2022 season was remarkable. She won the U14 girls' category at both the Phuket Wake Park and ESC Thai Wake Park rounds of the Singha national series, took two bronzes at the IWWF Asian Championships in Chuncheon (open women's wakeboard and youth women's wakesurf), then earned U14 bronze at the Cable Worlds at ESC.
In June 2025 she finished fourth in open women's wakeboard at the IWWF Asian Championships at Rabbit Lake, Bangkok, one place behind team-mate Bhraebhim Pipatsawaddhi. At the SEA Games that December she won two team golds with Thailand: the boat wakeboard mixed team at Rabbit Lake (220 points, ahead of Indonesia and the Philippines) and, according to Wikipedia, the cable wakeboard mixed team at ESC Thai Wake Park. Both were team events rather than individual titles.
