Kite Cable Thailand is the only cable park in the Hua Hin–Pranburi area, and it feels more like a small water-sports resort than a city wake park. It sits a few minutes from Pak Nam Pran beach and is built around a flat, chest-deep lake, so falls are soft and shallow and nervous beginners settle in quickly.

Based on official information and our research, the set-up is two independently driven 2-tower System 2.0 lines sharing a start island: a short beginner run and a longer run with a kicker and a kicker spine. Calm, shallow water also makes it a good spot for foiling. Advanced riders will run out of obstacles fairly fast, as this is not a rail-heavy park.

Where it shines is everything around the water. The official facilities page lists 28 bungalows plus rooms, a café, bar and BBQ, a small shop, showers, Wi-Fi, and free SUP, kayaks and floating donuts. Its published set prices (400 THB for two 10-minute sets, 600 THB for four, as of October 2026) include two instructors. Some directories quote higher session prices of around 800 THB, so confirm the current rate with the park.

The drawbacks are distance and hours. It is around 45 minutes from Hua Hin airport and roughly three hours from Bangkok, it closes on Wednesdays, and the hours are not confirmed on the official site. Overall, it is a top pick for a beach weekend, families and first-timers, and a nice side trip for riders based in Hua Hin.

History & story

Kite Cable Thailand sits on a private lake in Pak Nam Pran, about 30 minutes south of Hua Hin, and as the name suggests it grew up alongside the area's kitesurfing scene; kite lessons still run on the beach when the wind allows. By 2018 its manually controlled cable was already being recommended for beginners. After a March 2026 report that Black Mountain's Hua Hin cable had closed for good, it is now the only cable park in the area. With 28 bungalows, 8 rooms, a café, bar and BBQ, it suits Hua Hin holidaymakers, families and groups who want to take over the island for a weekend.

In depth

Background and history

Kite Cable Thailand sits on a private lake in Pak Nam Pran, a few minutes inland from Pak Nam Pran beach and roughly 30 minutes south of Hua Hin. As the name suggests, it grew up alongside the area's kitesurfing scene: the beach here is a known kite spot, and the park still promotes kite lessons on the beach when the wind cooperates (source: Wake Parks Thailand). A 2018 Kalara blog post already described the lake's manually controlled cable as a good place for beginners, so the park has been running for at least eight years.

We could not find a sourced opening year or founding story. What has changed is its regional role: according to a March 2026 Wake Parks Thailand article, Black Mountain's cable in Hua Hin has closed for good, leaving Kite Cable as the only cable park in the Hua Hin-Pranburi area.

The cable and features in detail

The setup is two independent 2-tower (System 2.0) straight lines that share a start island, listed by Wake Parks Thailand as a Neverdry system. One is a short beginner run; the other is longer and carries the features, which Waketricks lists as a kicker and a kicker spine (source: Waketricks). Because each line is driven separately and by hand, two groups can ride at the same time, and the operator can slow or stop the rope for a fallen beginner or speed it up for a stronger rider.

The lake is flat and roughly chest-deep, according to Wanderlog's summary, which makes restarts easy and has made it popular with foilers. This is a coaching-focused 2.0 park, not a big full-size loop: riders after long laps and big obstacle lines are better served in Bangkok or at Thai Wake Park Pattaya.

Rules and what to know before you go

The official facilities page prices riding in 10-minute sets: 400 THB for 2 sets and 600 THB for 4 sets, including basic gear, two instructors, SUPs, kayaks, floating donuts, showers and Wi-Fi. A 2026 directory quotes sessions from about 800 THB, and an online-travel-agency beginner package runs 2 hours, so the set pricing may apply to certain bookings only. Confirm with the park, as of October 2026.

The park is closed on Wednesdays; directories list 10:00-18:00 on other days. Bookings and questions go through WhatsApp or LINE. The Wotif beginner product sets a 16+ age limit and asks for moderate fitness, and is not recommended for spinal injuries or pregnancy; for younger riders, ask the park directly. Shade is limited, so bring proper sun protection, and see our what to bring checklist.

What reviewers often say

Reviews are strongly positive. Wanderlog shows a 4.6/5 Google average across nearly 100 reviews and a perfect score on Tripadvisor. Recurring themes are attentive, hands-on staff, good safety gear, fair prices and an owner who is visibly involved. Reviewers also like how easy it is to get back up in shallow water.

The main practical tips repeated across summaries: go on a weekday for more personal attention, book lessons in advance as a beginner, and bring sunscreen. A handful of low-star ratings exist, but we found no published explanation for them.

Recent news and events (2025-2026)

The park now markets itself well beyond day riding. The official site promotes parties and events (with DJ, lighting and catering), corporate retreats, team building, film-location hire and an exclusive "Book The Island" option for groups, backed by 28 bungalows plus 8 rooms, a café, bar, BBQ and Thai/European buffet. With Black Mountain gone (March 2026 report), it is the default wake stop on a Hua Hin trip; Hua Hin Airport is about 45 minutes away. For more on combining it with other parks, see our trip itineraries.

FAQ

How much does Kite Cable Thailand cost?

As of October 2026, the official facilities page lists 400 THB for two 10-minute sets and 600 THB for four, including basic gear and two instructors. Some directories quote sessions from about 800 THB, so confirm the current rate with the park.

Is it good for complete beginners?

Yes. The lake is flat and about chest-deep, there is a short dedicated beginner line, and instructors are included. It is one of the friendliest places in Thailand to try wakeboarding for the first time.

What days is Kite Cable open?

It is reported to open 10:00 to 18:00 and close on Wednesdays, but these hours are not confirmed on the official site. Message the park before you travel.

Can I stay overnight at the park?

Yes. There are 28 bungalows plus 8 rooms on site, and groups can book the whole island. Book directly with the park.

Is Kite Cable good for advanced riders?

The obstacle set is small (a kicker and a kicker spine), so park riders chasing rails will find it limited. For bigger features, look at Thai Wake Park Pattaya or the Bangkok parks in our Bangkok guide.

How far is it from Hua Hin?

About 35 km, or roughly 40 minutes by car from Hua Hin town. It is only a few minutes from Pak Nam Pran beach.
